Form Follows Flame

The tapered candle silhouette is one of lighting's most enduring forms. The exposed filament inside clear or frosted glass brings that heritage into a modern context. In a chandelier, wall sconce, or candelabra, this bulb is as much a design element as the fitting around it.

Where It Belongs

In a chandelier above a dining table set for guests, or a pair of wall sconces either side of a bedroom mirror, the candle bulb does something no downlight or panel fixture can. It creates intimacy through its soft, enveloping warmth, making faces look softer and spaces feel more human. Boutique hotels, heritage residences, and considered hospitality venues have always known this. The candle bulb is not background lighting. It is the mood itself.

灯泡形状

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb, and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in millimetres. For example, a standard household bulb is the A60. The bulb is "A" shape, and the diameter would be 60 millimetres.

色温

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four-digit number followed by (K), such as 2700K. High temperatures indicate white, "cooler" colours, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colours. Some typical Kelvin temperatures are 2700K (warm white) and 4000K (natural white).

The Colour Rendering Index is an international system that rates a lamp's ability to render objects colours. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale), the richer and more accurately the colours appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which base size do I need, and is E12 suitable for US fittings?

We stock a full range of bases (E14, E27, B15, B22), including the E12 Candelabra base. The E12 is the standard size for light fittings imported from the US; if you have a North American chandelier or lamp, this is the correct bulb for your fixture.

What is the difference between Clear, Frosted, and Porcelain glass finishes?

Clear glass is designed for crystal chandeliers to create a brilliant sparkle; Frosted glass diffuses light to reduce harsh glares; and Porcelain (Opal) offers an entirely uniform, matte white glow. Choose Porcelain or Frosted for a softer, more contemporary aesthetic that is easy on the eyes.

How do I choose the right colour temperature (2200K to 4000K)?

Select 2200K (Sunset Glow) for an ultra-warm, vintage feel; 2700K (Warm White) for traditional living areas; 3000K (Soft White) for a slightly cleaner look; or 4000K (Cool White) for task-heavy spaces like kitchens or work areas.

Are these LED candle bulbs compatible with my dimmer switch?

Our candle bulbs are fully dimmable and optimised for modern trailing-edge LED dimmers. To ensure flicker-free performance and a long lifespan, we recommend avoiding older "leading-edge" magnetic dimmers, which may not be compatible with low-wattage LED technology.

Do these bulbs produce "True Colour" light?

Yes, all our LED candles feature a high Colour Rendering Index (CRI), providing "True Colour" light. This ensures that your interior colours, furniture, and fabrics appear rich and accurate, rather than looking dull or greyish as they often do with lower-quality bulbs.

Brilliant little bulbs

Was after a 4w 12volt outdoor bulb for some outdoor lights. Th existing ones were way too bright and were cool white. These ones were warm light and give a beautiful soft glow in our pergola, that is still bright enough to enjoy being outside at night.

Also happy to say these were delivered well wrapped and in record time. Happy to recommend these lights and LiquidLEDs!

Hi. Is this bulb ( 24 volt 4 watt candle led bulb) suitable for outdoor festoon lights?

Dulora

Hi Sophie, thanks for your question. Yes, this bulb is a great choice for outdoor festoon lighting, provided your festoon string operates on a 24 Volt DC system. The E27 (Edison Screw) base fits standard festoon sockets, and the warm white 2700K colour temperature creates a beautiful ambience for outdoor entertaining.

A few important things to keep in mind for outdoor use:

This bulb is rated IP20, which means it is not protected against moisture or water ingress on its own. For outdoor installations, your festoon string and lamp holders should be rated at least IP44 to provide adequate protection from rain and the elements. Without properly rated lamp holders, moisture can reach the bulb and cause damage not covered under warranty.

This bulb also runs exclusively on 24V DC, so it will not work with mains-powered (240V) festoon strings. Make sure your festoon system includes a compatible 24V DC transformer or driver.

If you need any help checking compatibility with your specific festoon setup, feel free to get in touch with our team.

- The Dulora Team

Hi, 12 volt AC or DC?
Or will they run on both?
Cheers
Brad

Dulora

Hi Brad, the bulbs will only work with 12V DC.
