Frequently Asked Questions

Which base size do I need, and is E12 suitable for US fittings?

We stock a full range of bases (E14, E27, B15, B22), including the E12 Candelabra base. The E12 is the standard size for light fittings imported from the US; if you have a North American chandelier or lamp, this is the correct bulb for your fixture.

What is the difference between Clear, Frosted, and Porcelain glass finishes?

Clear glass is designed for crystal chandeliers to create a brilliant sparkle; Frosted glass diffuses light to reduce harsh glares; and Porcelain (Opal) offers an entirely uniform, matte white glow. Choose Porcelain or Frosted for a softer, more contemporary aesthetic that is easy on the eyes.

How do I choose the right colour temperature (2200K to 4000K)?

Select 2200K (Sunset Glow) for an ultra-warm, vintage feel; 2700K (Warm White) for traditional living areas; 3000K (Soft White) for a slightly cleaner look; or 4000K (Cool White) for task-heavy spaces like kitchens or work areas.

Are these LED candle bulbs compatible with my dimmer switch?

Our candle bulbs are fully dimmable and optimised for modern trailing-edge LED dimmers. To ensure flicker-free performance and a long lifespan, we recommend avoiding older "leading-edge" magnetic dimmers, which may not be compatible with low-wattage LED technology.

Do these bulbs produce "True Colour" light?

Yes, all our LED candles feature a high Colour Rendering Index (CRI), providing "True Colour" light. This ensures that your interior colours, furniture, and fabrics appear rich and accurate, rather than looking dull or greyish as they often do with lower-quality bulbs.

Brilliant customer service and great globes

100% satisfaction. I had no clue what size bulb I needed (the blown bulbs had no helpful detail for the uninitiated) and had spent pointless hours looking for replacement bulbs in physical shops. A quick photo sent to online chat gave me the information I needed, and I am now the very happy owner of a fully lit vintage chandelier. Needing to purchase eight 4 watt dimmable candle LED B15 globes,I was very pleased to finally locate these at LiquidLEDs Lighting. My order was quickly processed,tracking was available and the goods promptly received in perfect condition.

Received the next day. Great product! Strongly recommended!

I purchased two 4 watt frosted candle B15 globes and a clear candle globe. The frosted globes are good and viable replacements for incandescent equivalents. The clear globe was brighter and definitely equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent. However, I was looking for a replacement globe for a chandelier and found that the multiple LED nature if the globe is annoying in that application. I used the globe in a picture light instead where the globe is not fully exposed and it gives a good result. At present it is difficult to find LED globes that look good in chandeliers. Other candle LED globes which have a single light source have a big white base on the bayonet fitting which looks really ugly.

These globes are all dimmable. Although hardly noticeable, I did find the LEDs in the globes did not completely go off and flickered at a very low level on one lighting circuit.

It could be a problem with my wiring, but I suspect there is some inductive pickup on the lighting loop which is providing a very small amount of power to the globes. I was able to stop the issue be leaving one ordinary globe in the circuit.

The upshot is that the clear candles work well, but the look may not suit where highly visible. It is a matter of individual taste. The frosted candles are not quite as bright as the clear, but are excellent replacements for 40 watt incandescents.

It is what we required and it performs well for the environment and space that it is in

Would you have the same, just a round bulb (this is for another application in our house)? So everything the same: small bayonet, 4 watts, light temperature (really nicely warm colour), but still sufficient brightness, only different: a ROUND bulb (see photo)? Thanks Adriaan
