How to Hang String Lights

Learn how to plan and secure festoon, solar or smart string lights for durable outdoor lighting.

Dulora festoon strings are IP65 dust-tight and protected from water jets, suitable for permanent outdoor use when installed correctly.

Installation Steps

  1. Mark anchor points on walls, beams, posts or trees.
  2. Fit hooks/eyelets and tension a guide wire for spans over 5m.
  3. Hang the string using UV-resistant clips with sockets pointing down.
  4. Connect power via a weather-protected outlet with a drip loop on leads.
  5. Test and secure.

IP Ratings

  • IP44: covered outdoor areas with limited exposure
  • IP65 (Dulora's rating): exposed patios and permanent installs
  • IP67: areas with pooling water

Cable Note
