How do I know whether I need a G4, G9, E14, or B15?

G4 is a low-voltage bi-pin, used in under-cabinet lights, wet-location fixtures, and some recessed installations. G9 is a mains-voltage bi-pin with looped pins, common in kitchen pendants, decorative wall lights, and certain designer fixtures. E14 is a small screw base for compact candle and pilot applications. B15 is a small bayonet cap serving similar applications to E14 in fixtures with bayonet holders.

Remove the existing bulb and check the base type. The four aren't interchangeable.
