L’effetto Gold Crown
La corona dorata è una calotta a specchio applicata sulla parte superiore del globo, che modifica il comportamento della luce all’interno dell’apparecchio. Invece di irradiarsi in tutte le direzioni, la luce viene riflessa verso l’alto e verso l’esterno dalla superficie dorata, rimbalzando sulla parte interna del paralume o del supporto del pendente prima di raggiungere l’ambiente. Il risultato è un’illuminazione più morbida e diffusa, senza abbagliamento diretto proveniente dal filamento, anche negli apparecchi aperti o semiaperti in cui il globo è completamente visibile.
La finitura dorata aggiunge al globo un accento caldo e decorativo quando è spento, conferendogli un carattere visivo distintivo, ideale per gli apparecchi in cui la lampadina è esposta. Quando è acceso, la superficie a specchio crea un effetto alone caldo attorno alla base del globo, mentre la corona emana un sottile riflesso dorato. These numbers refer to the diameter of the glass globe at its widest point in millimetres. The G80 (80mm) is ideal for smaller lamps, the G95 (95mm) is the standard "gallery" size for pendants, and the G125 (125mm) is a large statement bulb designed to be a focal point in open-style fixtures.

No, these bulbs are "retro-fit," meaning they fit directly into your existing E27 or B22 sockets. However, if you are experiencing dimming issues, we recommend having an electrician check that your wall dimmer is a modern "Trailing Edge" model, which is the standard for high-performance LED lighting.

Like Alex's review, I originally bought this for the dining table using a shade very similar - lovely soft light and no glare. I also bought two for our balcony so we can have a soft light there also. I installed as "bare bulbs" on a pendant fitting but the pendant essentially functioning as a close-to-ceiling fitting as the ceiling is low and angled. Only issue was we could see the top of the filament from certain angles which was glary. Solution was to use a frosting spray and frost just a thin annular ring , but to do so I needed to mask the rest of the bulb, I used masking tape as it has low adhesions. Sadly the gold coating peeled off with the tape. So the frosting solution worked brilliantly for what I wanted to do but I was sad to lose that gold coating. Granted, not many people will be doing what I did but just be aware that the coating is delicate.
