What makes a bulb dimmable, and why does it matter?

A dimmable LED bulb contains internal circuitry that works with a compatible dimmer switch to smoothly reduce light output, rather than simply cutting power. Standard non-dimmable LEDs are not designed for this: they may flicker, buzz, or fail prematurely if used on a dimmer circuit.

Which socket do I need: E27, E14, E12, B22, or B15?

The socket type is determined by your fitting, not your preference, so check before ordering. E27 and B22 are the most common in Australian homes: E27 is the large Edison screw used in most pendants and floor lamps, while B22 is the bayonet found in most ceiling roses and table lamps.
